DMX - Digital Motion X-Ray Identifies Ligament Injuries Not Detectable By MRI, CT, Or Static X-RaysX-Rays - Digital Motion

Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) uses advanced technology to detect ligament injuries that could never be seen before because of the lack of motion. Static x-rays, MRI and CT commonly miss injuries because you don’t or can’t move for the exam. The upper 30% of the spine and posterior aspect of the spine contain no discs, just ligaments. Headaches and posterior neck pain are commonly caused by stretched ligament injuries which cannot be detected by MRI.

DMX is a new type of fluoro-based x-ray system, coupled with new digital and optic technology, allowing clinicians to view the spine in real-time motion at 30 x-rays per second. The DMX system can produce 2,700 x-ray images with the same amount of radiation as a standard x-ray machine, which gives you 6 static x-rays. DMX exposes patients to far lower radiation levels than traditional video fluoroscopy. Also, due to the progress made in computer imaging over the last decade, DMX images are far clearer and more detailed.

Digital motion x-ray can find injuries that are evident only when you move. If your pain increases with movement, common sense tells you that your injuries should be examined “in motion”. DMX can reveal these sub-failure ligament injuries allowing the doctor to specifically determine which ligaments are injured.

Digital Motion X-Ray (DMX) helps doctors make a fast and accurate diagnosis for patients with ligament damage. In addition, Digital Motion X-Ray allows doctors to:

Make the most informed and reliable diagnosis
Provide proof of injury
Increase patient compliance and understanding
Detect ligament injuries objectively
Substantiate patient care

Medical Necessity For DMX Studies

☐ Headaches ☐ Dizziness ☐ Blurred vision
☐ Posterior neck pain ☐ Pain increased with movement
☐ Evaluate flexibility of scoliosis
☐ Confirm ligamentous instability in the upper 30% of the cervical spine, which is supported by ligaments only and contains no discs. (Alar-Accessory-Transverse Ligaments)
☐ Confirm ligamentous instability to the complete cervical spine in flexion-extension views. Anterior Longitudinal Ligament, Posterior Longitudinal Ligament, Interspinous Ligament and Compression Fractures
☐ Confirm ligamentous instability at facet joints in flexion-extension oblique views. (Capsular Ligaments)
☐ Confirm referred pain syndrome from capsular ligamentous injury. (Scleratomal Pain)
☐ Confirm swallowing difficulty or complaint of swelling in throat
☐ Increased pain and clicking on opening and closing jaw
☐ Negative previous imaging test

DMX Digital Motion X-ray is the only moving diagnostic test performed in a weight bearing position to evaluate the function of the 22 major cervical ligaments.

Anyone who has been in a motor vehicle accident (even a minor one), or has had a traumatic fall or injury can benefit from the digital motion X-ray analysis.
